Overview of Observational Studies

What is an observational study?

In an observational study, investigators assess health outcomes in groups of participants according to a research plan or protocol. In this observational study, participants will receive interventions in the form of gluten and sham (fake) gluten challenges orally.

What is informed consent?

Before enrolling in a research study, you must sign an Informed Consent Form (ICF). The ICF contains information about the study, including study goals, how long the study will last, benefits and risks, and the tests and procedures you will receive.
